In a world of technology where everyone is connected, I am surprised that there are still things that no one talks about. It wasn’t until after I gave birth that I learned some important aspects of motherhood and the journey you go through once your miracle has come into the world.
Here are 3 Things that I Didn’t Know After Birth that No One Told Me About…
- You have to also give “birth” the to placenta! This was somehow a huge surprise to Kyle and me the first time around as no one told us about it, and frankly didn’t even cross my mind. Slowly and patiently the placenta will come out after you’ve birthed your miracle. The placenta is a beautiful miracle of its own.
- You will have contractions after giving birth and while breastfeeding for the first few weeks as your uterus is working to heal. Contractions after birth are more intense the more babies you have.
- Babies have a tiny tummy, the size of a blueberry. They only need a few drops the first two days. Don’t let your hospital stay scare you into having to feed your baby multiple ounces. If your baby has trouble latching, ask for a pump at the hospital and feed your baby with your finger.
