STROLLER SHOPPING MADE EASY

I didn’t realize how much time my baby would spend in the stroller but also how much time I’d be pushing it! At first, I didn’t do too much research and it just gave me an insane headache when I had to figure out what was the lightest or what was compatible with a car seat and which adapters work with the model…anyway! Let’s just say they definitely don’t make it easy for you!

Shortcut advice: I got the Nuna pipa car seat that is convertible with a lot of strollers and some travel strollers – it’s light, small and travels easily. I will be getting a toddler car seat when needed. I found it more complicated to find a car seat bigger that would last longer because it’s hard to take around and find good convertible strollers.

CHOOSING THE BEST STROLLER FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY

Within almost a year, I did thorough research and finally picked a winner! What I also learned is that there’s a stroller for each different scenario!

Here are a few strollers that are worthy of your attention:

UPPABABY

This is the one that we ended up getting after looking around and knowing what we needed and wanted. It rolls super easily and it folds really nicely. The basket is like everything for me: you can add groceries, yo

ur purse, toys, blankets….the list goes on. I realized how insane it gets with a baby as far as all the things they need, plus the outings you will go on (picnic, walks, beach, groceries…) So it’s super useful to have extra room.

You can also add a second baby when you’re ready and the basket doesn’t disappear. It comes with a bassinet, seat, rain cover and bugs cover! Yaaasss! The only downside: you need two hands to fold it…I’ve found it a little challenging when I’m holding Oliver. Besides that, I love it!

BUGABOO

There are so many Bugaboo strollers made for your lifestyle! They are so pretty and definitely another great pick! A little pricier than most. They have strollers for twins, or just for the city, for long walks or even for if you’re a runner! They fold really nicely and roll perfectly as well. The only downside is you have to buy each accessory separately from the stroller, which can get pricey.

THE JOOLZ

The Joolz is super pretty, you can design your own style and it’s for every occasion. Compatible with the Nuna and other car seats makes it even more of a winner. It’s a popular one in NYC and getting more and more hip in LA. It folds really well, strolls nicely too and you can add a baby, so it grows with you! It also comes with a bassinet. The only downside is that you lose the basket when adding a second baby and you have to purchase all accessories separately.

NUNA

Nuna is one of my favorite brands! Especially for the car seats. Their strollers are really convenient, well-made and lightweight. The baskets are a good size plus they also have zipper compartments. It’s easy to fold and rolls really well.

OXO TOT CUBBY

This one is especially convenient if you’re travelling a lot or just want a good stroller that is easy to take around with you! Very nicely priced, good quality, lightweight, folds with one hand and compatible with some car seats!

BABYZEN YOYO

While we’re on the subject of travelling, this stroller is ah-mazing and the funny part is everyone used to call my mom Yo-yo! It folds small enough to take it as a carry-on! Super light, with a decent basket and really cute too. It’s also compatible with the Nuna Pipa car seat which is my favorite of them all. It’s a great stroller for the city and travelling. The only downside: I wouldn’t use it as a stroller for activities like hiking, running, etc…

GRACO & CHICO BRAVO TRAVEL SYSTEM

If you don’t want the headache of figuring out what is compatible with what and you’re looking for a good stroller for a decent price that has a car seat that comes with it, this is a really good option!

I started out with the Graco and it’s a good stroller, folds really easily and rolls just fine. The only downside: the basket is small, it’s a little heavy after a while of pushing and you’d have to find universal accessories that fit, as in a rain cover, etc…

I HOPE THIS LIST HELPS!

If you live in the Los Angeles area and you’re overwhelmed and don’t know where to go to get good advice and decent help, this store is amazing! Right by Century City. https://travelingtikes.com  You can also order online and if you have any questions, you can give them a call! It’s a family store and they are so nice and helpful. My experience was great!

Here are three things I wish someone told me to prepare before coming home from the hospital with my newborn. I learned this all through lived experiences.

👉🏼 Set up a postpartum shelf on wheels with all my healing needs- most is provided by the hospital. Having everything on deck and reachable when needed, especially during exhausting times is very helpful.

👉🏼 If breastfeeding, the first thing I did is contact a lactation consultant. Every breastfeeding journey is different with each baby and sometimes can be too daunting with do’s and don’t. This gave me direction and a following game plan.

👉🏼 Take really good care of my nipples and have prepped meals- healthy meals that I froze prior and coconut oil for nipples and nipple shield cups were everything while my skin got used to feeding.

Do you have anything to add to this list?

I can't look at my rainbow baby
without thinking of my angel baby.

I can't think of my angel baby
without thanking for our rainbow baby.

There isn't a world or heaven where a child is replaceable. 💔

The more I care for Zoë, the more my heart breaks for what happened to my little Blake. Grief of a child is the most awful thing I’ve ever had to go through and that has forever changed me. Holding him, kissing his little nose, birthing him for hours and having to let him go is my biggest heartbreak that keeps on hurting.

While I get to hold my beautiful rainbow baby, my beautiful miracle, while I observe all of her…her eyes, her nose, life through her expressions and smile…I take it all in but my heart and body can constantly feel the hole of these moments that I’ll never get to have with him.

To anyone who’s survived such a devastating loss…my heart knows how you feel at night when you close your eyes. My arms are wrapped around you.
